The Marshall House
One of Savannah's oldest hotels, opened in 1851 and known today for the ornate cast-iron veranda added in the 1870s that wraps its brick facade along Broughton Street. An 1851 newspaper notice praised it as "an ornament to the city," and the hotel's original floors, doors and tall ceilings survive from its antebellum beginnings.
