The place

The hotel occupies the base of the Merchant Building at 59 Spruce Street, downtown Columbus, built on a former surface parking lot beside the North Market — the city's oldest surviving marketplace.

The concept

Developed by Columbus-based Rockbridge with Edwards Cos., the Merchant Building is downtown Columbus's tallest new construction in three decades and houses the city's first independently branded luxury hotel alongside residences, offices and a members' social club. The hotel is built around a 15,000-square-foot expansion of the adjoining North Market, tying the property directly to the neighborhood's century-old food-hall identity rather than a generic downtown footprint.

Dining & wellness

Multiple restaurants and bars including a trade room and bar and a courtyard, plus a members' social club with its own library bar, rooftop bar and rooftop pool.
