Hollywood Casino Columbus Hotel opened on 12 June 2026 as a seven-story, 150,000-square-foot tower attached to the casino on Georgesville Road. It has 203 rooms, 183 standard and 20 suites, and cost about 100 million dollars.

The place

The tower is attached to the casino at 200 Georgesville Road, off Interstate 270 near the Hilltop neighborhood on Columbus's west side. The casino has been open on the site since 2012, and the hotel connects directly to its gaming floor.

The concept

The casino opened in 2012 as one of Ohio's four, authorised by a November 2009 referendum, and had no rooms of its own until now. The hotel was announced in 2023 and follows an October 2022 master lease between PENN Entertainment, which runs the casino, and Gaming and Leisure Properties, which owns the property and paid for the tower. Marnell Companies is listed as the project's design firm.

A Community Benefits Agreement with the central Ohio building trades council anticipated about 200 construction jobs, and the hotel itself is expected to employ about 100 people. Hiring events took place on 27 March and 10 April, reservations opened on 15 April, and the grand opening on 12 June came with an outdoor festival and a concert headlined by Bret Michaels.

Earlier announcements spoke of 180 and then 200 rooms, which is why older coverage shows different totals. The final count is 183 guestrooms plus 20 luxury suites. Beyond the sleeping floors, the tower has conference rooms, a fitness center and an outdoor seating terrace.

The casino itself holds more than 1,700 slot machines, 65 live dealer tables, a sportsbook, the state's largest poker room according to its operators, more than 16,000 square feet of banquet space and six restaurants and bars. Columbus led the state's four casinos in 2025 with 294.7 million dollars in gross gaming revenue.

Dining & wellness

The Hill Eatery & Lounge is the tower's full-service restaurant and bar. It sits alongside the casino's six other restaurants and bars, which hotel guests can reach without leaving the building. An expanded high-limit gaming room and a speakeasy bar are planned for the third quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval.

The new hotel is simply beautiful. From the moment you walk in, the property makes a wonderful first impression with its modern design and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant, The Hill, was a different experience. While the food was good, I found it to be significantly overpriced. For example, an order of smoked wings—just three drumettes, one flat, and two drums—cost $14. Ordering enough for a satisfying appetizer ended up costing me $28. The highlight of the restaurant was the service. Every member of the serving staff was exceptionally kind, attentive, and welcoming. Their professionalism made the dining experience enjoyable. However, the presentation of the staff did not match the elegance of the restaurant or its pricing. The manager's suit appeared inexpensive and lacked the polished, upscale look one would expect from a restaurant positioning itself as a premium dining destination. The servers were dressed in what appeared to be black T-shirts, assorted black pants, and a variety of black shoes, with some looking more polished than others. The lack of a consistent, professional uniform took away from the refined atmosphere the restaurant seemed to be striving for. When guests are paying premium prices, they expect an experience that reflects that investment. Beautiful restaurants should invest not only in décor and quality service but also in a cohesive, polished appearance for their staff. Presentation matters, and elegance extends beyond the food to every aspect of the dining experience. While the food was good and the service was outstanding, the overall presentation lacked the sophistication expected at this price point.

Hollywood Casino Columbus is a really impressive place if you want entertainment, good atmosphere, and a chance to relax 🎰✨. The building itself is large, modern, and very clean. Everything feels well organized, and the whole casino has a lively but comfortable energy 😎. One thing I noticed right away is how much there is to do here 🎲🍔🎵. It’s not just slot machines — there are restaurants, bars, different gaming areas, and plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Even if you are not a serious gambler, it can still be a fun place to spend some time. The staff were friendly and professional 👏. Security and organization also seemed very solid, which makes the place feel safe and comfortable. I also liked that the casino stays active at almost any hour 🌃. Since it’s open 24 hours, it’s convenient if you’re traveling or just looking for somewhere interesting late at night 🚗. Another plus is the large parking area 🅿️. There’s plenty of room, and getting in and out is easy compared to many busy entertainment places. Overall, Hollywood Casino Columbus is a fun and well-maintained place with a good atmosphere, nice restaurants, and plenty of entertainment options ⭐🎰.

Hey HC!!! Nicely done! Main floor was noticeably shiny and clean! And the main smoking area a HUGE IMPROVEMENT! Was in in a Saturday night! Looks like machines are getting repaired and back online. Hotel exterior is beautiful! Can’t wait to have guests of mine stay there! Thank you so much for the clean up!!!

I had fun! The bartenders were nice and courteous. The restaurant with the noodles was great, I ordered veggie lo mein and it was delicious and was given a good portion along with speedy service. I ate there both nights I was there. I also won some money! Anytime I'm in the area, I'll definitely return!;
