Sports Illustrated Resorts Nashville Music Row
A decade-old Music Row apartment tower's third act, now dressed in a Sports Illustrated jersey.
Open · Spring 2026
Sports Illustrated Resorts' new Nashville outpost isn't new construction: it's a 2016 apartment tower on Music Row that already had one life as Placemakr/WhyHotel short-term rentals before Travel + Leisure Co. bought in and relaunched it as a sports-branded vacation-ownership property in spring 2026. The studio-to-two-bedroom suites and their kitchens are unchanged; what's new is the Wyndham Trademark Collection signage and a Trophy Room lounge.

The place
The resort sits at 1600 McGavock Street on Music Row, in Nashville's Midtown, about a mile from downtown and The Gulch and within walking distance of Vanderbilt and Belmont universities. It's steps from Historic RCA Studio B, where Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton cut records, putting a sports-branded stay in the middle of the city's music-industry core rather than its stadium district.
The concept
The six-story building didn't start life as a hotel. It opened in 2016 as Cadence, a conventional apartment building, before being converted to short-term rental use by WhyHotel, later rebranded Placemakr — the same furnished, kitchen-equipped units rented nightly under that flag for several years. In 2025-26, an entity affiliated with Travel + Leisure Co. bought units in the building for a combined $32.26 million and converted the property again, this time into a Sports Illustrated Resorts destination sold through Wyndham's Trademark Collection and its vacation-ownership arm. Sports Illustrated Resorts is Travel + Leisure's licensing tie-up with the sports-media brand, launched in 2022 to put timeshare-style stays near events and college-town energy rather than a golf course or a beach. Here that translates into studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites carried over from the apartment layout — full kitchens, in-unit laundry — dressed with sports-themed common spaces: an SI Fit training area, an SI Lifestyle boutique, and a game-day lounge branded the Trophy Room.
Dining & wellness
The building keeps the amenities it had as an apartment-hotel: an outdoor pool with loungers, a fitness centre now rebranded SI Fit, and a members'/owners' lounge (the Trophy Room) for watching games. Food and drink on-site is limited to quick-service dining rather than a sit-down restaurant.
