The Chloe Nashville
Built from a restoration of two 1920s craftsman cottages in Hillsboro Village
Open · January 2026
The Chloe Nashville opened in January 2026 in Hillsboro Village, a 19-room boutique hotel built from two restored 1920s craftsman cottages that once housed Asylum Records and Spirit Music. It is the first Tennessee project from New Orleans hospitality group LeBlanc + Smith, the team behind The Chloe and The Celestine in that city, and arrives on Condé Nast Traveler's 2026 Hot List of best new hotels.

The place
The hotel sits at 1906 Acklen Avenue in Hillsboro Village, a walkable pocket of Nashville between Vanderbilt University and Music Row, known for independent bookshops, diners and live-music clubs rather than the honky-tonks of downtown. The neighborhood has largely resisted large-scale redevelopment, which made the two adjoining cottages — modest, low-slung buildings rather than a purpose-built hotel block — a fitting match for the area's scale. Music Row's recording studios and Vanderbilt's campus are both a short walk away, and the site's own recording history gives the location a direct link to the industry that shaped the surrounding streets.
The concept
The Chloe occupies two connected structures dating to 1918 and 1920, each wing still named for the record label once headquartered there — Asylum and Spirit Music — where artists including Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Chris Stapleton and George Jones recorded. Designer Sara Ruffin Costello led the restoration, keeping coffered ceilings, salvaged wood floors and exposed brick intact while adding new work from local artists and makers throughout the 19 rooms and suites. A connected breezeway serves as entrance and reception, tying the two cottages together without erasing the sense that they were once separate buildings. The project extends LeBlanc + Smith's New Orleans formula — restored historic buildings, a strong food and beverage program, design that favors patina over polish — into a new market, and it is the company's first hotel outside Louisiana. Rooms are stocked with handwoven robes, artisanal bath products and Marshall record players, and the hotel includes a listening library built around a curated vinyl collection, a nod to the site's musical past. At 19 keys it is deliberately small, positioned as a neighborhood fixture rather than a transient-heavy property, with 30 percent off rooms offered through spring 2026 as an opening incentive for staycations.
Dining & wellness
The hotel's all-day restaurant, seating roughly 40 guests, is led by chef Matt Regan, formerly of Sylvain in New Orleans' French Quarter, serving Creole-inflected Southern cooking built around Gulf flavors and shareable plates. Three separate bars run through the property — a lobby bar and lounge, a restaurant bar, and a pool bar — each pouring Tennessee whiskeys alongside classic cocktails. The outdoor pool and garden, open to hotel guests and sold separately as day passes to locals, comes with shaded loungers, food and beverage service, and changing areas.
