Canopy by Hilton Nashville Downtown The Gulch opened in June 2025 on the corner of Division and Overton streets, marking Hilton's first Canopy-branded hotel in Nashville. The 181-room property occupies the site of the former Yazoo Brewing Company and shares its eleven-story building with a 152-suite Homewood Suites, with 27 suites offering skyline views and connecting terraces.

The place

The hotel sits at 910 Division Street in The Gulch, the former rail and warehouse district that has become Nashville's densest concentration of boutique retail, galleries and restaurants over the past two decades. Music City Center, Bridgestone Arena and Broadway's honky-tonk strip are all about a ten-minute walk away, putting the hotel within reach of both convention business and the tourist core without sitting inside it. The Gulch itself is walkable and largely low-rise, and the hotel's site carries specific local history: it was previously home to Yazoo Brewing Company, a connection the hotel's food and beverage program still draws on.

The concept

The project is developed by Tara Investments with financing from Goldman Sachs, designed by architecture firm ODA and interior design studio Campbell House, and built by Yates Construction. Ground broke in February 2022 on a dual-branded eleven-story building that pairs the 181-room Canopy with a 152-suite Homewood Suites, the two brands sharing a footprint but operating with separate meeting space. The Canopy opened first, in June 2025, as part of Hilton's stated push to double its lifestyle hotel portfolio within four years. Design leans into the site's industrial past rather than smoothing it over: rooms use reclaimed-metal and denim-leather barn doors in place of standard interior doors, concrete ceilings, denim-and-leather headboards, and a custom wood canopy built over each bed, alongside a rotating collection of local art. The 27 suites add connecting terraces and skyline views, and the two-story presidential suite goes further still, with a private rooftop terrace, a full bar and a translucent baby grand piano, plus the option to connect additional adjoining suites for groups. It is a new-build lifestyle property aimed at travelers who want boutique detailing and neighborhood specificity without leaving a major flag, in a submarket where Hilton had not previously had a presence.

Dining & wellness

Five food and beverage concepts run through the hotel. Silo, a ground-floor gastropub under executive chef David Henriquez, has the largest patio in The Gulch and pours Yazoo Brewing drafts in a nod to the site's former tenant. COA, a rooftop restaurant, serves Mexican cuisine alongside one of the largest agave spirit lists in Tennessee, with three outdoor terraces, two bars and a 600-square-foot live agave garden. A Five Points Pizza slice window and an 8th & Roast coffee bar cover faster orders, and a design-minded speakeasy is planned to complete the lineup. Guests also get an in-house fitness center, discounted classes at nearby Rumble Boxing, and complimentary Rivian house-car transport around downtown.
