Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville

Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville opened July 29, 2021, in the SoBro district, two blocks off Broadway. The 252-room tower — a joint venture between Hyatt and local developer C.B. Ragland Company — is a new-build addition to a stretch of Nashville that has filled in fast with hotels chasing the same honky-tonk crowd, and it leans on Cumberland River views and local art to stand apart from that pack.

The place

The hotel sits at 210 Molloy Street in SoBro (South of Broadway), the former warehouse district turned entertainment and residential corridor immediately south of downtown Nashville. Broadway's honky-tonks and live-music venues are a two-block walk north; Nissan Stadium, Bridgestone Arena and the Music City Center are all within easy range, and the Cumberland River runs close enough that upper-floor rooms get a clear view of it rather than just of neighboring rooftops. SoBro has been one of the fastest-changing pieces of downtown Nashville over the past decade, adding condo towers, offices and hotels around what was once mostly parking lots and rail infrastructure, and this property is part of that build-out rather than a renovation of something older.

The concept

Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville is a ground-up tower developed jointly by Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Nashville-based C.B. Ragland Company, designed by local architecture firm Hastings with interiors by Stonehill Taylor. The brand brief for Hyatt Centric is built around guests who want a home base for exploring a destination rather than a reason to stay on property, and the Nashville hotel follows that logic with floor-to-ceiling windows in its 252 rooms and 11 suites, a ninth-floor rooftop pool, and roughly 7,600 square feet of meeting space split across a ballroom and smaller rooms with music-themed names — the Mandolin ballroom, the Harmonica boardroom, the Tambourine lounge. The hotel's clearest point of distinction is its art program: more than 20 local artists, curated with the Nashville Artist Collective, have work throughout the public spaces and guest floors, giving the property a specifically Nashville identity rather than a generic lifestyle-hotel look. That matters in a submarket where several similarly scaled, similarly positioned hotels have opened within a few blocks of each other chasing the same Broadway foot traffic — the art and the river-facing rooms are what separate this one from a well-built but interchangeable box near the honky-tonks.

Dining & wellness

Ella's, the hotel's lobby restaurant and bar, serves New American food built around Southern staples across all three meals, with an open kitchen and full-service bar. On the ninth floor, Lala's rooftop pool bar handles the lighter, later-in-the-day trade — shareable plates, sandwiches, a rosé-heavy wine list and cocktails, with downtown Nashville skyline views and a mural by a local artist as the backdrop. The ninth floor also houses the fitness center, which shares the same downtown outlook as the pool deck.
