1 Hotel Nashville opened on July 12, 2022, at 710 Demonbreun Street in SoBro, directly across from Music City Center — the eighth property in SH Hotels & Resorts' 1 Hotels portfolio and its first in Tennessee. The 215-room hotel applies Barry Sternlicht's eco-lifestyle formula, an ivy-clad facade, reclaimed wood, farm-to-table dining, wellness spa, inside a downtown corridor built around conventions and music tourism.

The place

The hotel stands in SoBro (South of Broadway), the stretch of downtown Nashville that has densified fastest over the past decade, filling in around the Music City Center convention complex directly across the street. Broadway's honky-tonks, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Bridgestone Arena are all within a short walk, putting the hotel inside the compressed core that most visitors to Nashville cover on foot. It is a convention-and-tourism address more than a residential one — a bet that guests will trade a quieter neighborhood for proximity to the city's dominant draws, and that a hotel built around greenery and natural materials can still read as a retreat inside that density.

The concept

1 Hotel Nashville is operated by SH Hotels & Resorts, the company Barry Sternlicht built around the 1 Hotels brand and its premise that environmental consciousness and hotel comfort are not at odds. The building's most visible signature is its facade: roughly 56,000 plants climb the exterior, a living wall intended to soften the hotel's presence inside SoBro's grid of convention towers and arenas. Inside, the design leans on reclaimed wood paneling, rough-hewn poster beds and workbench-style vanities referencing local craft traditions, with organic mattresses and locally sourced linens in the rooms; the property holds LEED Silver certification. Sustainability extends to operations as well as materials — wooden room keys, in-room chalkboards in place of notepads, hangers made from recycled paper, water carafes made from recycled wine bottles, and a '1 Less Thing' program through which guests can donate used clothing to local organizations. The 215 rooms include 37 suites, ranging from Alcove Kings and Queens to City accommodations with skyline views, Studio and Terrace Studio Suites, and larger House Suites, with connecting rooms available for groups. As the brand's eighth global property and its first in Tennessee, the hotel extends 1 Hotels' positioning — built in Miami, Brooklyn and West Hollywood, among others — to a city whose hotel supply has grown mostly around music tourism and conventions, betting that a wellness-and-nature identity travels as well to Nashville's entertainment district as it has to coastal markets.

Dining & wellness

Dining runs through three venues. 1 Kitchen Nashville, the signature restaurant, is led by Culinary Director Chris Crary, a Top Chef alum, with a farm-to-table menu built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Harriet's Rooftop pours wellness-leaning cocktails made with honey from the hotel's own bee garden, alongside biodynamic wines and local beer, and programs live music and a resident weekend DJ over skyline views. Neighbors Café handles the casual end, serving seasonal picnic-style fare using regional produce. The Bamford Wellness Spa, named Tennessee's Best Hotel Spa at the 2025 World Spa Awards, and the Anatomy fitness and yoga studio round out the wellness offer.
