Motif on Music Row opened on July 10, 2024, on the site once occupied by the United Artists Tower, the 1974 recording facility built by two members of Elvis Presley's backing vocal group, the Jordanaires. Triumph Hospitality's all-suite property brings 133 one-, two- and three-bedroom units, each with a full kitchen, to Nashville's historic Music Row, positioning itself for both short leisure stays and extended corporate visits.

The place

The hotel stands at 50 Music Square West, inside Music Row, the district of publishers, labels and recording studios that has anchored Nashville's country music industry since the 1950s. Neighbors include Sony Music Publishing, BMI and ASCAP, alongside independent studios and the radio station Lightning 100. The address places guests within walking distance of downtown Nashville and the Entertainment District, close enough for evening access to Broadway's honky-tonks and Bridgestone Arena without sitting inside their noise. It is a working music-business street rather than a tourist strip, which gives the hotel a quieter, more residential rhythm after office hours.

The concept

Motif is developed by Andy Bhakta, CEO of Triumph Hospitality, in partnership with Jay Patel of Sila Developments. The seven-story, all-suite building replaced the United Artists Tower, and the project leans into that history rather than erasing it: suite categories include the executive United Artists Suite, and the property commissioned a mural from street artist Kelsey Montague, known for her interactive #WhatLiftsYou installations. The look mixes high ceilings and plush furnishings with photography celebrating Nashville's musical past, a "chic yet down-to-earth" register pitched between boutique hotel and serviced residence. Every suite — one, two or three bedrooms — comes with a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, a frameless LED mirror and a television of 50 inches or larger, features aimed squarely at travelers staying multiple nights: touring musicians, relocating professionals, families visiting Nashville for a week rather than a weekend. The hotel is pet-friendly, with a private dog-walking area and a planned washing station, and offers mobile check-in and valet parking. That combination of hospitality polish and apartment-grade practicality is the property's central bet: a stay long enough to cook a meal and do laundry, on a street where the neighbors write and record the songs.

Dining & wellness

The hotel's restaurant and bar operate under the name Teddy's, built around soaring wine displays and dry-aged meat lockers for in-house aging, with a lively indoor bar drawing on what the operators describe as the spirit of an older, less polished Nashville. On the second floor, an 8-foot-deep rooftop pool and lounge — the Rose Garden Rooftop — looks out over downtown and Bridgestone Arena, covered and heated through the colder months, with a separate poolside bar for cocktails and local beer. A fitness center with yoga mats and weights rounds out the property's amenities.
