W Nashville

W Nashville opened October 6, 2021, in The Gulch, giving Marriott's lifestyle brand its Music City debut inside a 14-story mirrored tower with six ground-level entrances. The 346-key hotel leans on Nashville's industrial and music heritage for its design language, and in early 2026 added a trio of restaurants and bars from José Andrés Group, its first Nashville venture.

The place

The hotel stands at 300 12th Avenue South in The Gulch, the former rail-yard district that has become one of Nashville's densest concentrations of restaurants, boutiques and residential towers since its redevelopment began in the 2000s. From there, Broadway's honky-tonks, the 12 South shopping strip, Music Row and Midtown are all within a short drive, and Nashville International Airport is about 8.7 miles away. The address puts W Nashville at the center of the neighborhood it helped densify, rather than adjacent to it — a position that matters for a brand built around street-level energy and walkable nightlife.

The concept

W Nashville is a ground-up build, not a conversion, and its 14-story form was shaped specifically for the brand: a mirrored glass tower with six street-level entrances designed to blur the line between hotel and neighborhood. Interiors come from Rockwell Group, with HKS Architecture handling the building's spatial planning, and the design pulls on the materials of Nashville's industrial and musical past — iron, steel, reclaimed wood, leather and exposed concrete — rather than the city's more familiar honky-tonk iconography. The hotel counts 346 rooms, split between 286 standard rooms and 60 suites, giving it the largest suite count of any hotel in Nashville, including two Extreme WOW suites with private balconies. The art program is central to the concept: FAILE studio produced commissioned pieces installed in every guest room, a 96-inch heart canvas by Jim Dine anchors public space, Jim Marshall's rock-and-roll photography runs through the halls, and a Jimi Hendrix mural by Bryan Deese covers part of the building's facade. Outdoor space totals more than 26,000 square feet, including the Spanish Steps — a 42-tier concrete stair and amphitheater built around a live-music stage — which functions as the hotel's de facto town square. It is a positioning aimed as much at Nashville locals looking for a bar or a show as at the traveler booking a room, consistent with W's broader strategy of treating its hotels as neighborhood social hubs.

Dining & wellness

W Nashville runs six food-and-beverage venues. In February and March 2026, José Andrés Group opened its first Nashville concepts here: Zaytinya, an Eastern Mediterranean mezze restaurant; Bar Mar, focused on seafood and globally inspired meat dishes; and Butterfly, a rooftop bar on the 13th floor with near-360-degree city views. Glowbird at WET Deck serves the pool, Living Room Bar & Lounge programs live music, and Barista Parlor and Living Room Cafe cover coffee service. The WET Deck itself is a 10,000-square-foot pool area with a 2,000-square-foot L-shaped pool and private cabanas, alongside a 2,200-square-foot FIT fitness center and a yoga lawn.
