The Printing House Nashville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened September 8, 2025, with 187 rooms at Third Avenue and Peabody Street, anchoring Nashville's fast-developing South Bank riverfront district. Developed by Indianapolis-based Sun Development & Management, the ground-up build is a LEED-certified Tapestry entry built around a design story tied to Nashville's printing and songbook history rather than the generic boutique playbook.

The place

The hotel sits at the corner of Third Avenue South and Peabody Street in South Bank, a riverfront district on the east bank of the Cumberland River that Nashville has been actively rezoning and redeveloping alongside a new Tennessee Titans stadium and mixed-use towers. It is roughly four blocks from Broadway's honky-tonk strip and historic Printers Alley, and within walking distance of the Ryman Auditorium. South Bank remains a construction zone as much as a finished neighborhood — the hotel is one of the first hospitality openings to bet on the district before its surrounding blocks are fully built out, giving guests proximity to downtown's nightlife without being inside it.

The concept

The Printing House takes its name and design language from Nashville's printing legacy — the letterpress and songbook trade that once linked local printers to the musicians who built Music City's publishing industry. The mid-century contemporary architecture uses a textured concrete façade patterned after letterpress plates, paired inside with rattan, walnut and brass, custom millwork and a recurring block "P" mark that ties the branding back to type-shop aesthetics. The 187 keys include 12 deluxe suites and a private seven-room floor, positioning the property at the upper end of the Tapestry Collection's upscale-lifestyle range rather than at its more standard boutique-conversion norm. As a ground-up build rather than an adaptive reuse, the hotel had to manufacture the historical narrative its Tapestry siblings often inherit from an existing structure — a choice that shows in details like curated in-room mini-bars stocked with local spirits and LED-lit millwork rather than in any literal printing artifacts on site. It is Nashville's second LEED-certified hotel, a credential the developer has leaned on in press materials, and the property is aimed squarely at travelers drawn to Nashville's music and creative-industry identity rather than at the convention or business-transient market South Bank's stadium development is also chasing.

Dining & wellness

The Press House Café handles all-day service, pairing a traditional espresso bar with Southern diner touches — roasted coffee, handcrafted espresso drinks, smoothies and brunch cocktail flights alongside grab-and-go and plated options. The Letterpress Lounge & Terrace, on the fifth floor, is the hotel's main bar and dining room, an indoor-outdoor space serving elevated Southern cuisine, whiskey cocktails, local craft beer and a signature "Editor's Elixirs" list, with weekly live music. The same fifth-floor terrace doubles as a rooftop stage for local musicians and songwriter rounds, and the property holds 3,200 square feet of event space, including outdoor terraces and a dedicated catering kitchen.
