Urban Cowboy Nashville

Urban Cowboy Nashville opened in March 2016 inside a restored 1890s Queen Anne mansion in East Nashville, the Brooklyn-founded boutique brand's second property. Eight individually designed suites and a separate cabin sit behind the Urban Cowboy Public House, the on-site restaurant and bar that opened later the same year.

The place

Urban Cowboy Nashville occupies an 1890s Queen Anne Victorian mansion at 1603 Woodland Street in East Nashville, across the Cumberland River from downtown. The neighborhood's independent music venues and restaurant scene sit within walking distance, at a residential remove from Broadway's tourist strip.

The concept

The Brooklyn-founded Urban Cowboy brand, led by Lyon Porter and Jersey Banks, converted a wrap-around-porch Victorian mansion once used as a doctor's home and practice into its second property, after Urban Cowboy Brooklyn. Interiors by Cowboy Creative mix Victorian furniture with Western touches — a look the brand calls Southwestern Deco — across eight individually designed suites, each with its own name and a clawfoot tub, plus a separate cabin on the property.

Dining & wellness

The Urban Cowboy Public House, in a structure behind the main mansion, opened as the property's restaurant and bar in November 2016, with indoor and outdoor seating for about 160 guests built around a 16-foot fireplace and fire pit.
