The Digby, a ground-up 36-room hotel joining Hyatt's Unbound Collection, is under construction on the last vacant lot on Savannah's Ellis Square. Developers Stature Investments and Ideal Hospitality Investments worked with the Georgia Historical Society on a design narrative tied to the Digby family's original 18th-century deed to the plot; the hotel is now targeted for a 2027 opening after a 2024 topping-off ceremony.

The concept

Stature Investments and Ideal Hospitality Investments are building The Digby from the ground up — a genuinely new structure, not a conversion — on one of the few undeveloped parcels left in Savannah's historic core. The project's design narrative was researched in collaboration with the Georgia Historical Society, drawing on early-18th-century records tied to the Digby family, whose name appears on the plot's original deed; a topping-off ceremony marking the building's structural completion was held in 2024. The hotel remains small and boutique by design, at just 36 rooms.
