The place
The hotel occupies the lower floors of the Tower at Erieview on East 9th Street in downtown Cleveland, a National Register-listed high-rise from the city's 1960s urban-renewal era, steps from Lake Erie and the East 9th Street pier.
The concept
Kassouf Development is splitting the 1964 Harrison & Abramovitz-designed Erieview Tower between 227 W-branded apartments — among the first W-branded residences anywhere — and a 210-room W hotel on the lower floors, betting that Marriott's lifestyle brand can anchor downtown Cleveland's shift from office-heavy blocks to mixed residential and hospitality use.
Dining & wellness
A 38th-floor fine-dining restaurant and bar, a rooftop bar, spa, fitness center and lobby lounge are planned, alongside a 15,000-square-foot ballroom for events.
