At 491 rooms, it's the second-largest Autograph Collection hotel in the US, with two new restaurants, Maker and Mowrey's, and 65,000 square feet of event space; Skyline Investments brought in Coury Hospitality to manage the property in April 2026.

The place

24 Public Square, in the heart of downtown Cleveland, occupying the southeast quadrant of the city's central square, steps from Tower City Center and the Playhouse Square theater district.

The concept

Built in 1918 as the Hotel Cleveland, the property later operated for years as the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel under Marriott's Renaissance brand. Owner Skyline Investments carried out a $90 million restoration that returned the property to its original 1918 name and rebranded it under Marriott's Autograph Collection, completed in mid-2024. The renovation touched all 491 guestrooms and suites, the lobby and 65,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it the second-largest Autograph Collection hotel in the country. In April 2026, Skyline brought in Coury Hospitality to manage the property day to day, the 13th Autograph Collection hotel in that operator's portfolio.

Dining & wellness

Two new dining outlets anchor the restoration: Maker, and Mowrey's, named for Phineas Mowrey, credited with pioneering Cleveland's tavern culture in 1815. The hotel's meeting and event space totals roughly 65,000 square feet across the historic building.
