Opened in January 2025 inside the century-old Baker Building on Short Vincent, the Fidelity Hotel is downtown Cleveland's first independent lifestyle hotel — a 97-room adaptive-reuse project pairing Art Deco-inspired interiors with a buzzy ground-floor restaurant and bar. It's the clearest sign yet that Cleveland's hotel scene is moving beyond convention-center flags.
Fidelity Hotel occupies the 103-year-old Baker Building on Short Vincent, in the heart of downtown Cleveland's historic Euclid Avenue district, within walking distance of Playhouse Square, the Gateway sports district and the East 4th Street restaurant row.
The concept
Fidelity Hotel is an adaptive-reuse project that converted the long-vacant 1920s office tower once home to the Fidelity Mortgage Company into downtown Cleveland's first independent lifestyle hotel. Developed by Austin-based New Waterloo and part of the Curator Hotel & Resort Collection, the 97-room property leans into the building's Jazz Age bones: interiors by Curioso and Looney & Associates pair custom vintage-inspired furniture, jewel-toned textiles and curated local art with an Art Deco sensibility, while original architectural details of the Baker Building were preserved through the conversion.
Positioned as an alternative to the city's convention-hotel stock, Fidelity trades scale for personality — guest rooms are outfitted with Waterworks fixtures and Bellino Italian linens, and the ground floor is built around a lived-in lobby-and-bar experience rather than a conventional check-in desk.
Dining & wellness
The ground floor is anchored by Club Room, a full-service restaurant, bar and lounge serving a rotating seasonal menu of classic American dishes and Cleveland-inflected small plates, alongside locally sourced coffee and a cocktail program. The hotel also offers meeting/event space and a 24-hour fitness center; spa services are not confirmed, so treat that detail as to be confirmed.
