The place
Roost Cleveland occupies three floors of The May, the restored 1915 former May Company department store on Prospect Avenue at the edge of downtown Cleveland's Gateway District, a short walk from Progressive Field, Rocket Arena and Playhouse Square.
The concept
Roost Cleveland is the Philadelphia-born Method Co. apartment-hotel brand's debut outside its home market, occupying part of The May — the long-vacant, Daniel Burnham-designed department store that Bedrock began restoring in 2017, preserving the building's terracotta façade and pediment clock. The 62 loft-style studio, one- and two-bedroom units, designed by Morris Adjmi Architects with interiors by Method Co.'s in-house Method Studios, blend hotel-grade service with full-kitchen apartment living: vintage Oushak rugs, custom workspaces, and furnishings from Gubi and Original BTC sit alongside 24-hour concierge and weekly housekeeping. The concept targets an extended-stay guest — relocating professionals, medical-center visitors, longer leisure trips — who wants a boutique hotel with apartment-style living rather than a standard suite hotel; it's marketed as Cleveland's first high-design extended-stay concept.
Dining & wellness
There is no in-house restaurant; instead Roost leans on curated hospitality touches — an artisanal in-room coffee program with La Colombe, a house cocktail kit, and a seasonal bike-share program — plus building amenities including a three-story open-air atrium, a rooftop terrace, a fitness center, a private yoga studio and a shared makerspace.
