Hyde Perth, which opened in April 2026 on Pier Street, converted a late-1960s building shell into a music-led lifestyle hotel, Ennismore's Australian debut for the brand and its first Hyde property designed and built specifically to its own brief. COMO The Treasury, COMO's Australian debut, opened in October 2015 inside Perth's restored 19th-century State Buildings on Cathedral Avenue, a AU$110 million restoration that returned around 95 per cent of the Victorian-era stone and brick to its original form. Oaks Perth Hotel, on Murray Street, is a straightforward rebrand: the former Mantra on Murray moved into Minor Hotels' Oaks portfolio in August 2023 with the same building and apartment-style rooms. Dorsett Perth, still under construction within the Perth City Link precinct next to RAC Arena, will bring Far East Consortium's Dorsett brand to Western Australia for the first time behind a full-glass gold façade.

East End Historic Heart

A pocket of heritage buildings between the CBD and Elizabeth Quay, the East End is anchored by The Westin Perth, which opened in May 2018 on Hay Street: Western Australia's first Westin, a 28-level tower forming the centrepiece of BGC Development's Hibernian Place alongside the heritage-listed Hibernian Hall, on the site of the former Perth Fire Station.

Elizabeth Quay

The redeveloped waterfront precinct at the CBD's southern edge carries three tracked hotels. The Ritz-Carlton, Perth opened in November 2019 as Australia's first Ritz-Carlton, one of a pair of sibling towers on the reclaimed riverfront strip, its sandstone-clad podium referencing the Kimberley. DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront followed a year later, in December 2020, an 18-storey tower on Barrack Square that physically extends out over the Swan River, wrapped in Perth artist Tom Muller's site-specific "Aqua Lux" artwork. Quay Perth, on the Esplanade opposite the quay, is a genuine rebrand rather than a new build: Singapore-based operator Louis T Collection redeveloped the ageing New Esplanade Hotel into its current identity in June 2019, targeting a younger, design-conscious traveller with a rooftop bar and 24/7 co-working space.

Northbridge

Perth's main nightlife and dining district, just north of the CBD across the rail line, has two tracked hotels. Alex Hotel, built by Cicero Project (a consortium of Little Creatures Brewery's original partners) opened on James Street in May 2015 as one of the first genuinely independent boutique hotels of Perth's current hotel-building cycle. DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge followed in December 2018 on the same street, Australia's first purpose-built new-construction DoubleTree, developed and owned by SKS Group.

West Perth

On the CBD's western fringe, West Perth carries one open hotel and one confirmed project. Tribe Perth Kings Park, a new-build property immediately next to Kings Park, applies Accor's Tribe format of compact, efficiently designed rooms to a Perth market otherwise dominated by five-star towers. Radisson Perth at SCQ, announced in May 2026, will mark the Radisson brand's Western Australian debut within Sydney Charles Quarter, a ground-up "connected village" precinct developed by APPL Group and operated by Mandala Hotels & Resorts, expected later in 2026.

Crawley

A leafy riverside suburb west of the CBD, home to the University of Western Australia's Crawley campus, Crawley has one tracked hotel: Wonil Hotel Perth - Handwritten Collection, which opened in February 2023 as Accor's first Handwritten Collection hotel in Australia. Its 66 river-view rooms sit inside UWA's Forrest Hall Precinct, and its net revenue is reinvested into the Forrest Research Foundation's scholarships rather than paid out to shareholders: a genuinely unusual structure for a hotel of any brand.

Subiaco

An inner-west suburb built around a historic railway strip, Subiaco is home to Vibe Hotel Subiaco, which opened in October 2020 as TFE Hotels' first purpose-built Vibe property in the country, with a rooftop pool and bar overlooking the surrounding café district four kilometres from the CBD.

Fremantle

The historic port city at the mouth of the Swan River, about 19 km southwest of central Perth, has two of the newest hotels on this list. Garde Hotel opened on 1 September 2025 inside the former Fremantle Police Headquarters in the Convict Quarter, described locally as the port town's first five-star hotel and developed by the same operators behind Warders Hotel, Emily Taylor and the Hougoumont Hotel. Owston Hotel, the most recent opening we track anywhere in Perth, opened on 16 March 2026 in a heritage shopfront on High Street's West End, an 11-room conversion built around the Italian locanda model: guests can even collect a spare room key from a vinyl listening bar down the street after hours.

Burswood

South of the Swan River opposite the CBD, Burswood is Perth's resort-and-casino district. Crown Towers Perth opened in December 2016, a $568-million tower and the largest hotel in the city, built as the final piece of a $750 million upgrade to the Crown Perth resort complex. Anantara Perth Hotel, announced in February 2026 and targeted for 2032, will bring Minor Hotels' Thai-inspired luxury brand to Australia for the first time, anchoring Golden Sedayu's AUD 3.8 billion Burswood Point waterfront masterplan.

Perth Airport

Perth Airport has never had an on-site hotel: Pullman Perth Airport, targeted for 2027, would be the first, an eight-storey, 240-room property built as part of the airport's $5 billion capital works program and Accor's first Pullman-branded hotel in the city.

East Perth

A residential-and-riverside pocket east of the CBD, distinct from Elizabeth Quay and Northbridge, East Perth is where The Bennett by Ovolo Perth, a Wyndham Hotel is planned for Bennett Street. Announced in 2026 and targeted for March 2028, it would be the first hotel to combine Ovolo's boutique-lifestyle format with Wyndham's global distribution under the two brands' newly announced Australian partnership: construction had not yet begun as of this writing.
