The Calile Hotel Noosa
The Malouf family's Brisbane favourite gets a second, larger site in Noosa Heads, approved as the town's first five-star hotel development in 30 years.
Announced · TBC
The Calile Hotel Noosa, a 186-key resort designed by Richards & Spence for owner Michael Malouf's Ryder Hospitality Group, began construction on a 2.4-hectare Noosa Heads site in early 2025, targeting completion in 2028. It's the second Calile property after the original in Brisbane's James Street, and is described locally as Noosa's first five-star hotel development in over 30 years.

The concept
A second Calile Hotel, designed like the original Brisbane property by Richards & Spence, on a much larger 2.4-hectare Noosa Heads site than the James Street original. Owner Michael Malouf has framed it as a homegrown alternative to multinational-branded resorts, arguing such sites are 'often at risk of being ceded to multinational hotel companies who impose incongruous designs' on local communities. Local press describes it as Noosa's first five-star hotel development in more than 30 years.
Dining & wellness
Two pools — a 50-metre swimming pool and a separate quiet garden pool — plus a wellness spa positioned as a Noosa equivalent to Kailo, the spa at the Brisbane Calile.
