Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel
A 69-room wellness-focused hotel approved for the grounds of the existing Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, after nearly four years of council review.
Announced · TBCWe track three hotels in and around Noosa: Elysium Noosa Resort, MGallery Collection, which reopened on Hastings Street in December 2025 after a wellness-focused redesign, and two confirmed but not-yet-open projects, The Calile Hotel Noosa, an independent five-star from the owners of Brisbane's Calile Hotel, and Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel, a wellness property inside an existing golf resort. Couples and first-time visitors do best on or near Hastings Street; travellers wanting a golf-and-spa retreat should look toward Noosa Springs once it opens.
What to do
A weekend in Noosa
Spend the morning on Hastings Street itself (an eclectic strip of boutiques, galleries and surf stores that runs from sunrise coffee carts to sunset cocktails) then follow the boardwalk into Noosa National Park for the easy, one-kilometre Palm Grove Walk. In the afternoon, swim, paddleboard or surf at the Noosa World Surf Reserve directly off Hastings Street's beach, and catch sunset from Laguna Lookout, above the town, for a panoramic view over the river, hinterland and coastline.
A full week
With more time, Noosa National Park's full half-day Coastal Walk covers rainforest, heath and several more secluded beaches than Hastings Street's Main Beach, with a reasonable chance of spotting a koala in the park's eucalypt forests. Hire a bike to explore the flat path between Noosa Marina and Hastings Street, or head upriver on a boat trip through the Noosa Everglades, one of only two everglades systems in the world.
Where to stay in Noosa
Hastings Street
Elysium Noosa Resort, MGallery Collection reopened in December 2025 on Hastings Street, Noosa Heads' most exclusive beachfront strip opposite Main Beach: the address long known as Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort, itself originally a 1980s Sheraton. A roughly AUD 30 million redesign by Melbourne studio Mitchell & Eades reworked all 175 rooms and suites around plunge pools, private cabanas and a purpose-built spa, adding an Italian restaurant from Sydney chefs Alessandro and Anna Pavoni.
Noosa Heads' next five-star
The Calile Hotel Noosa is under construction on a 2.4-hectare site at 3-7 Serenity Close in Noosa Heads, targeting completion in 2028. Designed by Richards & Spence, the same firm behind the original Calile in Brisbane's James Street, it will be a 186-key resort from owner Michael Malouf's Ryder Hospitality Group, framed locally as Noosa's first five-star hotel development in more than 30 years.
Noosa Springs
Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel is a 69-room wellness property approved for the grounds of the existing Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, after nearly four years of council review cut the scheme down from an original 109-unit proposal. Four low-rise buildings are planned to terrace into the hillside, with construction expected to start in 2026 and completion targeted for 2028; no operating brand has been named yet.
Which hotel for your trip
Wellness & beachfront travellers
Elysium Noosa Resort's plunge-pool suites, dedicated spa and Hastings Street address put a wellness-first stay directly across from Main Beach today.
Travellers waiting on Noosa's homegrown luxury debut
The Calile Hotel Noosa, once it opens in 2028, will bring the same independent, design-led positioning as the original Brisbane property to a much larger Noosa Heads site: owner Michael Malouf has framed it explicitly as an alternative to multinational-branded resorts.
Golf & wellness retreat travellers
Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel, once built, will add a dedicated hotel to an existing golf-and-spa estate away from Hastings Street's beach crowds: worth checking back on as construction begins. The approved design terraces four low-rise buildings into the hillside below the tree line, scaled back from an original 109-unit proposal after community and council concerns over traffic, building height and koala habitat.
Why Noosa is adding two luxury hotels after decades without one
Noosa Heads has built its reputation on Hastings Street's boutique shopping and dining rather than large-scale hotel development, and both The Calile Hotel Noosa and Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel are explicitly positioned as filling a gap locals describe as three decades without a genuine new five-star build. Owner Michael Malouf has framed The Calile Noosa as a homegrown alternative to multinational-branded resorts, arguing that high-profile coastal sites are "often at risk of being ceded to multinational hotel companies who impose incongruous designs" on local communities: a positioning distinct from Elysium's rebrand of an existing Sofitel-era property.
