Essence Peregian Beach, a 32-room independent resort developed by Scanlon Group, opened on June 29, 2023 on the edge of Noosa National Park, roughly 11 km south of Noosa Heads. It was reported at launch as the Sunshine Coast's first new resort in years, built around local arts commissions and a beach-house-style estate.

The place

The concept
Developed and operated by Scanlon Group, reported at launch as the Sunshine Coast's first new resort in years. The property leans on local arts and culture — signature scents, uniforms and artworks commissioned from local creatives — rather than an imported resort template. General manager Damien Larkin said at opening: 'We are so excited to be bringing a resort of this calibre to Peregian Beach, essence is set to make a huge mark on the Sunshine Coast tourism scene.'
Dining & wellness
Outer Square, the on-site café-restaurant serving breakfast and brunch daily and dinner Thursday to Saturday; a private dining room seating 16; events and conferencing space for up to 80 guests; two pools, including an 80-square-metre saltwater main pool with a poolside bar, plus a separate children's pool; and an on-site gym.
