AC Hotel Gold Coast

Marriott's AC Hotels brand is converting Vibe Gold Coast, a 202-room tower in Surfers Paradise, into AC Hotel Gold Coast — the brand's Queensland debut and second Australian property after Melbourne Southbank. The renovation began in late 2025 under new owner KS Hotels and Resorts, targeting a mid-2026 reopening.

The place

The hotel sits in Surfers Paradise, the Gold Coast's high-rise tourist core, within walking distance of Cavill Avenue's beachfront strip, restaurants and nightlife — the same address the property has occupied as Vibe Gold Coast.

The concept

AC Hotel Gold Coast is a full rebrand and renovation of the existing Vibe Gold Coast tower, acquired by KS Hotels and Resorts and taken into a renovation that began in late 2025 ahead of a mid-2026 reopening under Marriott's AC Hotels flag. It will be the brand's second Australian property after AC Hotel Melbourne Southbank, and its first in Queensland, bringing AC's minimal, design-led format — built around communal lobby space and a European-inspired aesthetic — to a market so far dominated by resort-style and lifestyle-casual hotels.

Dining & wellness

The renovated property is planned to keep an all-day dining restaurant alongside the brand's signature AC Lounge and AC Store bar concept, a swimming pool, a gym and roughly 120 square metres of meeting and events space.
