Quay Perth

Quay Perth opened in June 2019 as an AU$10 million redevelopment of the former New Esplanade Hotel, relaunched under Singapore-based operator Louis T Collection with a new name, new identity and 80 rooms. It replaced a property that had itself succeeded Perth's demolished 1970s-era Esplanade Hotel.

The place

The hotel sits on the Esplanade opposite Elizabeth Quay, in the stretch of the CBD rebuilt around the quay's waterfront park and ferry terminal. It puts guests within walking distance of both the CBD's business core and the quay's restaurants and river frontage.

The concept

Quay Perth is a genuine rebrand rather than a new build: Singapore-based operator Louis T Collection took over the ageing New Esplanade Hotel and redeveloped it, at a cost of around AU$10 million, into Quay Perth — a new name and identity for a property that itself succeeded Perth's demolished 1970s-era Esplanade Hotel, once a landmark social hub. The 80-room repositioning targets a younger, design-conscious traveller with a rooftop bar and 24/7 co-working space, and marks Louis T Collection's entry into the Perth market.

Dining & wellness

Community at Quay is the all-day café; HQ Bar + Kitchen is the rooftop restaurant and bar, serving modern Asian-fusion food and cocktails with quay views. A 24/7 co-working space is a distinguishing feature for a hotel this size.
