Alex Hotel

Alex Hotel opened in May 2015 on James Street in Northbridge, a 74-room independent boutique hotel founded by Cicero Project — a consortium of Little Creatures Brewery's original partners. It was among the first genuinely independent boutique hotels of Perth's current hotel-building cycle.

The place

The hotel sits on James Street in Northbridge, on the edge of the CBD, in the same entertainment precinct that later drew DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge. It's a walkable, restaurant-and-bar-dense setting rather than a business or waterfront address.

The concept

Built by Cicero Project, a consortium of Little Creatures Brewery's original partners — Howard Cearns, David Martin, Nic Trimboli, Adrian Fini and Miles Hull — Alex Hotel applies a hospitality-industry sensibility rather than a traditional hotel group's playbook to a compact, independently run boutique property. Its scale, 74 rooms, and rooftop terrace put it closer to a design hotel than a conventional CBD hotel, and it was among the first genuinely independent boutique hotels of Perth's current hotel-building cycle.

Dining & wellness

Shadow Wine Bar & Dining serves modern European and Italian-leaning food for lunch and dinner; the ground-floor Lobby Café handles coffee, charcuterie and casual drinks. A rooftop terrace adds a further bar and city-view space.
