Winter

Deer Valley's reputation rests on groomed, uncrowded runs and a service-heavy culture — ski valets, limited daily lift-ticket sales and slopeside dining are all part of the resort's pitch. The resort hosted slalom, moguls and aerials events at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.

Summer

The lifts keep running for lift-served mountain biking and hiking once the snow clears, and Silver Lake Village hosts Fire & Flavor, a weekend live-fire cooking series with visiting chefs and local breweries through the summer. Park City's Main Street, with its restaurants, galleries and the Sundance Film Festival's historic home base, is a short drive or shuttle ride away.
