The place

The hotel stands at 2288 West Deer Hollow Road, steps from the Jordanelle Express Gondola at the base of Deer Valley Resort's East Village and about 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. Like the rest of the district it carries a Park City address without being in the old town.

The concept

Announced in March 2025 and opened in September 2026, Canopy Deer Valley is the first ski destination hotel for Hilton's Canopy brand and its first property in Utah. It is the second hotel to open in Deer Valley East Village, after the Grand Hyatt in 2024, and shares the same developer, Extell Development Company, which is assembling four branded hotels around the new Jordanelle base. DLR Group and BraytonHughes Design Studios handled the design, which follows the brand's local-first template — regionally sourced materials and food, and a lobby built as a neighbourhood room rather than a check-in hall. At 180 rooms it is deliberately smaller than the Grand Hyatt next door and priced well below the Waldorf Astoria due in 2028, positioning it as the accessible entry point to a district otherwise pitched at the very top of the market. Rooms start around $200 a night.

Dining & wellness

Four outlets, all Italian-leaning or grab-and-go: Tavolona is the trattoria, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; Fornetto is the lounge, serving antipasti, cicchetti, pizza and cocktails; Mountain Provisions is the café, with local coffee and takeaway items for the gondola queue; and the Alpine Attic is the rooftop lounge, with views across the new terrain. Hilton's opening release did not detail a spa.
