The place
The hotel occupies 2–7 Montague Street in Bloomsbury, directly opposite the British Museum and a short walk from Lamb's Conduit Street and Russell Square. It is built from six interconnecting Georgian townhouses that had not previously operated together as a single hotel.
The concept
The Zetter Bloomsbury is the third address for The Zetter Group, after Zetter Clerkenwell and Zetter Townhouse, and its first venture into Bloomsbury proper. Designer James Thurstan Waterworth converted six adjoining Georgian townhouses — spanning roughly 13,760 square feet — into a single 68-room property, drawing on the neighbourhood's literary and artistic associations with antique furniture, vintage lighting and rich textiles rather than a themed, museum-adjacent pastiche. Rooms range from compact, wood-panelled 'Cosy' categories to a Terrace suite with a four-poster bed and a claw-foot bath beneath bay windows; all 68 rooms have marble-finished bathrooms and VERDEN amenities. A 1,000 square-metre garden — large by central London hotel standards — sits behind the townhouses, giving the property outdoor space unusual for the location.
Dining & wellness
The Parlour serves light refreshments and cocktails; The Orangery is the main dining venue, opening onto the garden with a seasonal barbecue area and guest chef residencies in summer. The hotel also has a gym with a dedicated outdoor yoga space.
