The place
The hotel is on Richmond Way in Shepherd's Bush, inside the former Kensington House building, close to the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, Bush Hall, BBC Television Centre and Westfield London. The building previously operated as the independent K West Hotel & Spa.
The concept
Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd's Bush is IHG's rebrand of the formerly independent K West Hotel & Spa, replacing local ownership with a global flag — a genuine operator change on a building with real musical history: Kensington House served as a BBC recording and rehearsal studio complex, hosting sessions by David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and The Clash before its conversion to a hotel. Interior design studio Mosaic AD leaned into that past for the rebrand, referencing the building's recording-studio years through the new design scheme, with bespoke lighting developed alongside Northern Lights. At 231 rooms, it remains one of the larger hotels in Shepherd's Bush, now repositioned under IHG's boutique-leaning Hotel Indigo brand rather than as an independent property.
Dining & wellness
The hotel includes a restaurant built around an open kitchen, a neighbourhood-style bar, and an urban spa geared toward wellbeing — successors to the spa facilities the building had under its previous K West branding.
