New hotels in West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach is the mainland half of the Palm Beach pairing, a downtown of restaurants, theatres and a waterfront across the Intracoastal Waterway from the island of Palm Beach. Hotels here serve business, convention and leisure travellers instead of the old-money winter trade of the island. This guide tracks three projects, each in a different district and at a different stage: a boutique hotel about to open north of downtown, a Cipriani-family condo-hotel under construction on Lakeview Avenue, and a 400-room Curio Collection tower that has its approvals but no schedule.

What to do in West Palm Beach

A short visit

Downtown is walkable. Clematis Street and the waterfront promenade hold much of the dining, and CityPlace, the Related-developed shopping and dining district on South Rosemary Avenue, sits a few minutes away. The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and the Palm Beach County Convention Center are both on or near Okeechobee Boulevard.

The Nora District

North of downtown, a former warehouse zone along North Railroad Avenue is being rebuilt as the Nora District, a roughly $1 billion project by NDT Development, Place Projects and Wheelock Street Capital. It sits between Quadrille Boulevard and Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, with the Florida East Coast Railway tracks on its west side. The first phase is open: 13 restored warehouse buildings with about 156,000 sq ft of shops and restaurants and about 55,000 sq ft of creative office. The tenants include Del Mar, Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar, H&H Bagels, Van Leeuwen ice cream, Le Labo and Warby Parker, and a Pastis is due on the ground floor of the hotel.

Housing comes later. About 750 residential units are planned across future phases, among them Nora House, an 11-storey condominium building whose completion is estimated for 2029.

A longer stay

With more time, add the Norton Museum of Art, with a serious modern and contemporary collection, and Antique Row, then cross a bridge to Palm Beach for Worth Avenue and the public beaches. Our Palm Beach guide covers the island's new hotel, The Vineta.

Arriving without a car is feasible: the Brightline station is at 501 Evernia Street, about half a mile from the southern end of the Nora District and closer to a mile from the hotel site, a walk of 10 to 20 minutes.

Where to stay in West Palm Beach

The Nora Hotel

The Nora Hotel is the nearest to opening. BD Hotels, the New York group behind the Hotel Chelsea and The Mercer, is building 201 rooms at 1135 North Railroad Avenue, its first ground-up hotel outside New York. Gachot Studios designed the interiors and Stantec is the architect. Haute Living reports an opening on 19 October 2026; we have not seen that date confirmed by the group, and earlier coverage gave August or the fourth quarter. A Sisley Spa Paris, a lobby bar and a rooftop pool deck with the Lilly's restaurant are part of the plan. No rates are published.

Mr. C Hotel & Residences

Mr. C Hotel & Residences West Palm Beach is a different kind of project. The 27-storey tower at 320 Lakeview Avenue combines 110 hotel rooms with 146 branded residences, by developers Terra and Sympatico Real Estate, with Arquitectonica as architect and Meyer Davis on the interiors. It is the Cipriani family's first Mr. C in Palm Beach County. Construction began in 2025 and the concrete frame had reached about the 16th floor by August 2026. The 2023 announcement targeted 2026; completion is now slated for 2027, and no operator date has been published.

The Curio Collection tower

The third project is the West Palm Beach Convention Center Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, planned by Related Ross at 900 South Rosemary Avenue. It is designed as an 18-storey, 204-foot tower with 400 rooms, about 20,800 sq ft of meeting space and a 7,300 sq ft restaurant, on a 1.8-acre lot now used as overflow convention parking. West Palm Beach's city commission approved it unanimously in August 2026 and Palm Beach County approved the land sale-leaseback in September 2026. No opening date has been published.

For travellers who need a convention-district base today, the established option is the Hilton West Palm Beach at 600 Okeechobee Boulevard, which opened in 2016 as the city's first convention center hotel and is not tracked as a new opening.

Which hotel for your trip

A long weekend with restaurants in mind

The Nora Hotel, once open, puts a Pastis and a rooftop restaurant under one roof and sits inside a district of restaurants that already trade. It is also the only one of the three with a plausible date this year.

A purchase or a second home

Mr. C is, first of all, a real estate project. Sales passed 85% as of July 2026, and owners on select floors can enter their units in the hotel rental program. Whether a night there is a good hotel stay depends on that program, which is not yet described in detail.

An event at the convention center

The Curio tower would sit next to the venue, which is the point of the project. Until it opens, the Okeechobee Boulevard corridor is the practical area to search.

A trip with beach time

Many travellers pair a stay on the mainland with day trips to Palm Beach's public beaches, and some choose the island itself; the neighbouring guide covers that market. None of the three projects here is on the sand.
