Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver
A 15-story new build wedged into Denver's Historic Civic and Entertainment District, with a chef-owned restaurant off the lobby and a seasonal rooftop bar.
Open · October 2021
Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver opened in October 2021 on one of the last infill sites in the city's Historic Civic and Entertainment District, a 15-story, 264-room new build designed by JNS to echo its landmarked neighbors. Chef-owned restaurant Apple Blossom and the seasonal rooftop bar Bloom give it a stronger dining and drinking identity than most select-service downtown towers.

The place
Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver opened at 1776 Champa Street, inside Denver's Historic Civic and Entertainment District, within walking distance of the Colorado Convention Center, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Union Station and Larimer Square.
The concept
Developed by Magna Hospitality Group and built by Milender White, the 15-story tower opened to guests on October 26, 2021 on one of the last remaining infill sites on a block otherwise lined with registered historic buildings. Architecture and interior design firm JNS designed two distinct facades that reference the massing and materials of those neighbors — angled metal panels, deconstructed curtain-wall columns and a patterned concrete porte-cochère — rather than a single glass box. The building went up within four inches of the adjacent, landmarked Denver City Lofts, close enough that the contractor ran structural vibration monitoring throughout construction. As a Hyatt Centric, the property follows the brand's urban-explorer positioning: compact, design-forward rooms aimed at guests spending most of their day outside the hotel, backed by a 24-hour fitness center with Peloton bikes, a lobby market and local-artist commissions, including a driveway mural by Denver artist Megan Walker.
Dining & wellness
Apple Blossom, a 68-seat farm-to-table restaurant with a 20-seat bar and lounge off the lobby, is run by local chefs Paul C. Reilly and Aileen V. Reilly and built around a house-made pasta program sourced from regional ranchers and farmers. Bloom, a 15th-floor rooftop bar, operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day with cocktails, small bites and periodic DJ nights.
