Hard Rock International opened its flagship New York property on April 25, 2022, a 446-room tower rising just north of Times Square. Developed by Extell Development Company and dressed inside by Jeffrey Beers International, it folds the brand's music-memorabilia formula into one of the country's densest hospitality markets, complete with a Yankees-branded steakhouse and a 34th-floor rooftop bar.

The place
The hotel sits at 159 West 48th Street in Midtown Manhattan, a block that puts guests within walking distance of Times Square, the Theater District and Radio City Music Hall. It is a location built for volume rather than quiet: Broadway marquees, souvenir shops and round-the-clock foot traffic define the immediate streetscape, and the hotel leans into that energy rather than trying to buffer against it. For a brand whose identity is built on spectacle and music history, few New York blocks make a more literal case for the address.
The concept
Hard Rock Hotel New York is a 36-story, 291,000-square-foot tower developed by Extell Development Company, the firm behind several of Manhattan's recent supertall and hospitality projects. Interiors were designed by Jeffrey Beers International, which built the property around a music-themed narrative — a lobby floor patterned like a soundwave, a marble staircase styled to evoke guitar strings, and guest rooms finished in blue tones and gold accents meant to reference the city skyline after dark. The hotel houses roughly $86,000 worth of music memorabilia tied to artists including John Lennon, Joey Ramone and Lady Gaga, continuing Hard Rock's long-standing practice of turning its hotels into informal collections. The 446 rooms and suites include a penthouse Rockstar Suite spanning roughly 3,300 square feet across multiple floors with its own 1,600-square-foot terrace and direct access to the rooftop bar. In keeping with the brand's signature amenities, guests can request in-room Crosley record players and Fender guitars, and the property runs its Rock Om yoga program with DJ-curated soundtracks. The positioning targets a broad Times Square audience — music tourists, Broadway-goers and convention travelers — rather than the boutique or ultra-luxury niches that define much of Hard Rock's recent openings elsewhere.
Dining & wellness
Dining is anchored by NYY Steak, a steakhouse developed in partnership with the New York Yankees, and Sessions Restaurant and Bar, the hotel's all-day dining concept. RT60 Rooftop, on the 34th floor, offers a bar and lounge with Manhattan skyline views, while Audacy Live and The Venue on Music Row provide dedicated performance and event spaces — a nod to Hard Rock's entertainment-venue heritage rather than a conventional hotel amenity.
