The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel opened on October 25, 2024, at 20 East 76th Street on the Upper East Side. It is Corinthia's first property in North America. The 16-story building holds 70 rooms, 30 suites and 14 private residences, with interiors by Martin Brudnizki's studio MBDS.

The place
The hotel stands on East 76th Street at Madison Avenue, in the Upper East Side's museum district and a short walk from Central Park. The address has been home to a hotel of the same name for about a century, which the new operator treats as part of its pitch.
The concept
Reuben Brothers, the real estate and private equity group that owns the building, brought in Corinthia to operate the address rather than relaunch it independently. The 16-story tower kept its name and was rebuilt inside. The art collection includes works by New York artists dating to the 1920s.
MBDS designed the guest floors with residential touches: handcrafted Murano chandeliers, bespoke furniture and heavily textured cabinetry and wall finishes. Four signature suites are named after Central Park bridges: the Bethesda Grandeur Suite, Pine Bank Bridge Suite, Greywacke Heritage Suite and The Surrey Suite. Suite guests can request butler service at no charge.
A private members' club occupies the second floor.
Dining & wellness
Casa Tua is the hotel's exclusive food and beverage partner and opened its first New York location here. Michele Bonan, who designed the group's Miami, Paris and Aspen restaurants, did the interiors. It serves Italian and Mediterranean cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, with an open kitchen and a semi-private chef's table. The Lounge by Casa Tua, beside the lobby, runs an all-day menu.
The Surrey Spa, about 2,500 square feet on the second floor, uses Sisley Paris products. It has two treatment rooms, a steam room, a sauna, a salt relaxation room, a sensorial shower and an outdoor terrace, and sells a property-exclusive facial, the Black Rose Re-plumping Facial. AMP designed the gym.
