The Wall Street Hotel opened in June 2022 inside the 1901 Tontine Building at 88 Wall Street, a former pearl-trading office building with no prior hotel use. The Paspaley family's 180-room independent property includes John Fraser's La Marchande brasserie and rooftop Bar Tontine, and was named Travel + Leisure's top NYC hotel in 2023.

The place
The hotel occupies the Tontine Building at 88 Wall Street in the Financial District. The Beaux Arts office building, completed in 1901, housed one of New York's largest pearl-import businesses for decades and had never previously operated as a hotel.
The concept
The Paspaley family, Australian pearling magnates, converted the landmarked Tontine Building into an independent luxury hotel rather than licensing an existing chain brand — a new-build hospitality use for an office tower with no prior hotel history. Stonehill Taylor's architecture and Rose Ink Workshop's interiors keep much of the building's early-20th-century office detailing, aimed at Financial District business travelers and leisure guests looking for a boutique alternative to the neighborhood's larger chain hotels. It was named Travel + Leisure's top New York City hotel in 2023.
Dining & wellness
La Marchande, a brasserie overseen by chef John Fraser and designed by Vicky Charles, anchors ground-floor dining. Bar Tontine, a rooftop bar also under Fraser, and the Gerdau Ballroom occupy the top of the building.
