The place
The resort sits directly on Jumeirah Beach, a short distance from Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Residence strip, with most rooms and suites offering private balconies facing either the sea or the Dubai skyline.
The concept
Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai was the group's first hotel in the Middle East, designed by Jeffrey Wilkes in a restrained, contemporary style that leans on natural materials and sea views rather than the maximalist gold-and-marble language common among Dubai beach resorts of the same era. The 2,000-square-metre spa includes nine treatment rooms, a VIP Royal Suite and a full heat-and-water circuit, positioning wellness as a core part of the property rather than an add-on.
Dining & wellness
Tasca, the ground-floor brasserie-style restaurant with open show-kitchens, is run by Portuguese chef José Avillez; Netsu is a Warayaki-style Japanese steakhouse from Australian-born chef Ross Shonhan. Noor Lounge and the Mandarin Cake Shop round out the dining line-up.
