NoMad Singapore

NoMad, the downtown-New York hotel brand now owned by Hilton, is opening its first Asia-Pacific property on Singapore's Orchard Road: a 173-room tower on the site of the former Faber House, developed with local group UOL and wrapped in a 15-storey waterfall designed by WOHA. Four in-house dining and bar concepts, from a New York chophouse to a cabaret-styled cocktail bar, are already named ahead of the hotel's debut, targeted for late 2026.

The place

The hotel occupies 230 Orchard Road, the former site of Faber House, an office block UOL Group has redeveloped into a mixed-use hotel, retail and commercial tower. The address sits at the Somerset end of Orchard Road, next door to WOHA's own Design Orchard, and within walking distance of the road's main shopping strip as well as the Bras Basah-Bugis arts belt. It is UOL's second WOHA-designed hospitality project in the immediate vicinity, following Pan Pacific Orchard.

The concept

NoMad, the lifestyle brand Andrew Zobler built around the original NoMad Hotel in Manhattan and folded into Hilton's portfolio, has operated outside the United States only in London, since 2021, making Singapore its first foothold in Asia-Pacific. The deal, signed with UOL Group and announced in May 2025, gives Hilton its first Singapore address for the brand and gives UOL a marquee tenant for a site it has been assembling since acquiring the remaining stake in the Faber House block. The building itself is the more unusual part of the story. WOHA, the Singapore firm behind Parkroyal on Pickering and the neighbouring Design Orchard, has wrapped the tower in a 15-storey planted waterfall and a cliff-like vertical landscape that runs up the facade. A public art and design space, the Urban Verandah, occupies the third level, while the guest experience proper begins at level five with a lobby, sky terrace and infinity pool.

Dining & wellness

The fifth-level infinity pool overlooks Orchard Road and anchors a food-and-beverage programme that is unusually developed for a hotel still under construction. Hilton has named four venues: NoMad Grill, a New York-style chophouse built around dry-aged meats and seafood; Sticky Fingers, a soft-serve counter by day that converts into a cocktail bar at night; The Tropicana Club, a cabaret-inspired bar drawing on 1940s-50s Havana and Singapore's own cabaret history; and Lù Bar, a poolside spot for aperitivo-style drinks. Culinary direction sits with Lorenz Hoja, who spent more than a decade with Joël Robuchon, working alongside NoMad's global culinary director Josh Harnden, formerly of Eleven Madison Park.
