Artyzen Singapore opened on 24 November 2023 on Cuscaden Road, the first hotel outside Greater China for Shun Tak Holdings' Artyzen Hospitality Group. The 142-room tower, designed by ONG&ONG with interiors by Nic Graham & Associates, replaced the 1940s Villa Marie mansion and is anchored by two restaurants from Melbourne chef Victor Liong.

The place

The hotel stands on Cuscaden Road in the West Orchard neighbourhood, a quieter, embassy-heavy pocket a short walk from the Orchard Road shopping belt, the Singapore Botanic Gardens (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Singapore's main foreign-embassy cluster.

The concept

Artyzen Singapore opened on 24 November 2023 as the first hotel outside Greater China for Artyzen Hospitality Group, the Hong Kong-listed Shun Tak Holdings' lifestyle-hotel arm, timed to the group's tenth anniversary alongside a sister opening in Shanghai. The 20-storey tower, by local architecture firm ONG&ONG with interiors by Nic Graham & Associates, replaced Villa Marie, a 1940s tropical-garden mansion built by botanist Tan Hoon Siang: the hotel's design references the site's plant-filled past through trellised concrete columns and sky gardens rather than preserving any part of the original house, which did not survive the redevelopment. The 142 rooms and suites, spread across floors eight to twenty, all include balconies, a detail the brand positions as a differentiator against sealed-window Orchard Road towers.

Dining & wellness

Café Quenino handles all-day dining and turns into a cocktail bar at night, while Quenino by Victor Liong (QVL) is the fine-dining venue, both helmed by Melbourne chef Victor Liong of the two-hatted Lee Ho Fook, cooking through what he describes as a 'local-first' lens shaped by his Malaysian-Chinese heritage. A wellness floor holds a 100-square-metre gym and two yoga pavilions, and the Roof Garden tops the tower with a 25-metre cantilevered infinity pool, a sunken lounge and an herb garden.

My best hotel experience in Singapore to date. I travel frequently to Singapore, and this is probably my best hotel experience in SG to date, from the room, to the pool, breakfast, and to the services from the staff, it’s all been excellent. Notably, the staff went out of their way to accommodate for my situation and provided early check in before 12, which greatly improved my comfort after such a long flight. Services from staff was excellent as well for all the room services you will be requesting. Room: Booked deluxe king room with balcony, room size is excellent, very bright during the day and complete dark with blinds closed, ceiling height is significantly taller than other hotels which gave the room a very grand feeling and with a balcony, it provided much more sunlight intake. Large couch, separate toilet and bathroom, with a large bathtub and standing shower for your choosing, made my stay experience excellent. Amenities Rooftop infinity pool is breathtaking, nicely designed and decorated, with a jacuzzi if you fancy some underwater massage, really provide a great getaway from all the busy that happens in SG. Gym is decent, with enough cable machines and dumbbells to target almost all muscles you will need to on a trip. Breakfast is excellent, for around $40 SGD pp you get to have free flow main course that’s prepared upon order and speciality drinks such as teh and chai, and they tasted excellent. Location: Location is convenient enough, it’s at the end of Orchard Road, but you will get to hotspots like ION within 5-10mins of walking. It being slightly outside of Orchard Road def made the room quieter than on the main road, which is a plus.

Beautiful hotel with a rooftop pool. Breakfast options and atmosphere was great. Rooms are designed well with high ceilings and I loved spending time at the balcony. Good location even accessible to the public transportaion. Since my husband mentioned my birthday is during our stay, they arranged the bed and placed a chotolate cake with a note tjat was a nice touch. Big clean gym with complimentary fruits inside. We'd like to stay again when we visit Singapore!

My family and I absolutely enjoyed our time in Artyzen. It’s clean and is very close to malls. But the most memorable part is probably the service! Everyone was kind and polite, especially the housekeeping team. Special thank-you to Jane for the warm welcome on our day 1. Thank you Artyzen for the hospitality!

I had an excellent experience at Artizen Singapore thanks to Giwa and Sharmon. They provided outstanding customer service from start to finish—friendly, attentive, and highly professional. They were also incredibly fast and efficient without compromising on quality, making the entire dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail truly stood out. I got two rooms for my family for 5 nights. The rooms were really nice. Everything seemed new and fresh. Dyson hair dryer. Attentive housekeepers. Although I was told by my parents the pool was extremely small and the water looked dirty so they decided not to use it. They told me the pool at my clubhouse looked much better. 😅 It was a disappointment bc the pool looked nice on the promotional video and it was a key factor that I picked this hotel. Also there’s no small water for guests to take out for the day. I was a little shocked by it bc usually it’s done by high-end hotels. There’s a construction site next to the hotel which made it extremely noisy and even further to walk to the hotel. I was told they had good breakfast selection although the menu stayed the same every day.
