DoubleTree by Hilton Singapore Robertson Quay

DoubleTree by Hilton is entering Singapore by rebuilding, not building: the brand's debut property on the island rises from the shell of Hotel Miramar, a riverside fixture on Havelock Road that closed after nearly five decades in October 2025. Aravest and Wee Hur are funding and constructing the conversion, with Hilton operating the finished 344-room hotel, targeted to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The place

The hotel occupies 401 Havelock Road on the Singapore River, in Robertson Quay, one of the city's three historic quays alongside Clarke Quay and Boat Quay. The address places guests within walking distance of the district's riverside restaurants and bars, with Fort Canning Park, Chinatown, Bugis and the Orchard Road shopping belt reachable by a short drive or MRT connection.

The concept

The hotel is a ground-up conversion of Hotel Miramar Singapore, a roughly 1970s-era 342-room property that ceased operations at the end of October 2025 after decades under independent ownership. Aravest, a hospitality real estate investment and asset-management firm, acquired the building in partnership with Wee Hur Holdings, with Hilton brought in to manage the conversion and operate the finished hotel under its DoubleTree flag — the brand's debut in Singapore. Aravest and Wee Hur previously partnered on the redevelopment of the same riverfront strip into NoMad Singapore, giving this project a sibling relationship to that separate hotel rather than a shared building. The scope goes beyond a soft refresh: guestrooms, meeting spaces, the all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge, arrival sequence and fitness centre are all being rebuilt, and the room count is being trimmed slightly from 342 to 344 configured keys as part of the reconfiguration. The design follows DoubleTree's newer Asia-Pacific template, built around comfort and a residential sense of arrival rather than the brand's older, more corporate business-hotel look.

Dining & wellness

The pool deck is being rebuilt rather than merely refurbished, expanding what was previously a modest outdoor pool and hot tub at Hotel Miramar into a larger deck-level amenity. Two additions not present at the old hotel are a kids' club and pickleball courts. Food and beverage centres on a single all-day dining restaurant and a lobby lounge; no specialty restaurant, rooftop bar or named chef has been announced.
