Raffles Sentosa Singapore

For the first time since 1887, Singapore has two Raffles hotels running at once. Raffles Sentosa Singapore, a 62-villa resort designed by Yabu Pushelberg on a Sentosa hilltop, opened in phases through spring 2025 as the brand's first all-villa property and the country's first villa-format luxury resort. Every villa has its own pool; the largest, the four-bedroom Royal Villa, runs to 650 square metres.

The place

The resort sits on a hilltop on Sentosa Island, roughly 15 minutes by car from Singapore's central business district, spread across some 100,000 square metres of tropical grounds. Sentosa has spent two decades building out as Singapore's resort island but had never hosted a villa-format luxury property until this one; Raffles Sentosa sits within walking or buggy distance of Tanjong Beach and holds preferential access to Sentosa Golf Club.

The concept

Raffles Sentosa is the brand's first new build in Singapore since the original Raffles Hotel opened on Beach Road in 1887 — for the first time in the brand's history, the country has two Raffles properties running simultaneously. It is also Singapore's first resort built entirely of villas: all 62 units, from one-bedroom pool villas of 211 square metres up to the four-bedroom, 650-square-metre Royal Villa, come with a private pool, outdoor terrace and garden. Yabu Pushelberg's design leans on floor-to-ceiling glazing, natural materials and indoor-outdoor circulation rather than the colonial-revival vocabulary of the original hotel, and the site retains heritage Ficus trees and a resident peacock population predating construction. The project was developed and is operated jointly with Singapore-based Royal Group, an unusual co-management structure for the brand.

Dining & wellness

Five restaurants and lounges anchor the food and beverage programme: Empire Grill for modern Italian, Cantonese restaurant Royal China, omakase counter Iyasaka by Hashida, Raffles Room for the brand's signature afternoon tea, and Chairman's Room for whisky, cognac and wine. The Raffles Sentosa Spa occupies a heritage building with 13 treatment rooms, alongside a fitness centre; every villa's private pool supplements the resort-wide push toward in-room privacy over communal pool decks. Raffles Butler service, a brand signature since the 1887 hotel, extends to every villa.
