The place

The hotel sits at 1340 West Peachtree Street NW in Midtown Atlanta's Arts District, inside the mixed-use Midtown Union complex a few blocks from the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum of Art and the Alliance Theatre, within walking distance of the Arts Center MARTA station.

The concept

The Kimpton Shane Hotel is a ground-up, 14-story addition to Midtown Union, the office-residential-retail-hotel complex developed by MetLife Investment Management and AMS Hospitality on the site of a former surface parking lot and a demolished 1960s office building. Cooper Carry designed the building's architecture, while Dallas-based Studio 11 Design handled interiors, pairing natural materials and neutral tones with commissioned work from local artists, including a sculptural tree installation on the mezzanine level. The hotel also carries flexible meeting and event space on its second floor, aimed at the corporate tenants of Midtown Union as much as leisure travelers.

Dining & wellness

Food and beverage is split across two venues: Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails, a casually polished American restaurant facing the tree-lined pedestrian promenade, and Aveline, a cocktail bar and lounge on the mezzanine level with an outdoor terrace overlooking Arts Center Way. The hotel has no pool.

Very nice hotel. Our room was modern, clean with comfortable bedding. At 5 PM they set up a bar with free wine and some type of margarita along with delicious macaroni and cheese balls. They have an unbelievable breakfast/lunch buffet. Complete offering of breakfast foods along with an omelette station, lunchtime foods like pot, roast, and potatoes, a full salad bar and a complete dessert and bread bar. Because I used my Chase Sapphire, reserve mine was complementary, but the normal price is around $30 which included my beverage I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Exceptional Hospitality During Our FIFA World Cup Stay First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Ms.Jenna for her outstanding professionalism, kindness, and genuine care throughout our stay. During the FIFA World Cup, we initially booked five nights at Kimpton Shane Hotel and later had to extend our stay by an additional two nights due to an unfortunate scooter accident. Throughout this period, Ms. Jenna went above and beyond to assist us, always treating us with warmth, compassion, and professionalism. Her support made a difficult situation much easier, and she truly represents the very best of hospitality. Our overall experience at Kimpton Shane Hotel was exceptional from start to finish. The hotel offers a modern, stylish atmosphere while maintaining a welcoming and comfortable environment that immediately makes guests feel at home. The location is excellent, especially for visitors attending events, exploring Atlanta, or enjoying the vibrant Colony Square area. Everything felt convenient and easily accessible. The guest room was beautifully designed, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bedding provided excellent sleep quality after long days of travel and World Cup activities. Housekeeping consistently maintained the room to a high standard throughout our extended stay. What impressed us most was the hotel's commitment to guest service. Every team member we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. The staff consistently demonstrated genuine hospitality rather than simply performing their duties. The common areas were elegant, well maintained, and reflected the modern character of the hotel. The atmosphere throughout the property felt sophisticated while remaining relaxed and inviting. Sometimes the true quality of a hotel is revealed when unexpected circumstances occur. Following our scooter accident, the care, understanding, and assistance we received from the hotel team reinforced our decision to extend our stay. Their support and flexibility were greatly appreciated during a challenging situation. Kimpton Shane Hotel provided much more than accommodation it became our home away from home during the FIFA World Cup. Between the excellent facilities, comfortable accommodations, prime location, and exceptional service, this was a memorable stay that exceeded our expectations. A special thank you once again to Ms. Jenna for her kindness, professionalism, and dedication to guest satisfaction. She made a lasting impression and played a significant role in making our stay so enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Atlanta. We look forward to returning in the future.

I had a great time at the Kimpton Shane! The property is nice but the service is what takes everything up a notch. If you have the chance to experience Marlon at the front desk, you will certainly have a memorable experience! He was fun, welcoming, bubbly, and accommodating. He sent an amenity to the room after overhearing us talk about celebrating a milestone. It was a pleasant surprise & Shalita (I am assuming in IRD) was the best person to deliver! She definitely was the cherry on top and seemed just as happy as we were. Thank you Marlon and Shalita for the hospitality! We can’t wait to come back to stay with you and to have more cookies!! Whoever is baking the chocolate chip cookies knows what they’re doing!

LOVE this hotel! Rooms are beautiful and large, and the staff is so friendly. My dog loves it here and they immediately gave her a bunch of treats and treats in a to go bag while I was checking in. I barely missed the happy hour so they gave me a voucher for a free glass from the bar. Bar staff is incredibly friendly as well

I booked a Fourth of July staycation with one simple objective: rest, enjoy a beautiful hotel, and mind my business in luxury. Mission accomplished. My first interaction was with Kenny, who was warm, professional, and reassuring before I even arrived. He made me look forward to the reservation, and when I met him in person, he was somehow even more welcoming. Kenny set the tone, and the tone was: “Relax, we have you.” Alex in valet deserves the utmost praise. He remembered me, welcomed me back, and treated me with consistent kindness and professionalism throughout my stay. Every interaction was pleasant, and he carried himself as an absolute gentleman. Ralph was equally courteous and professional. Both Alex and Ralph gave me complete peace of mind regarding my vehicle and belongings. Their integrity was evident in the way they conducted themselves. I never felt the need to worry, double-check, or clutch my pearls. I knew everything was being handled by men whose character naturally inclined them to do the right thing. Special recognition goes to Shakari the front desk manager, whose patience, warmth, and genuine care shaped my entire stay. She listened, handled every concern with grace, and never once made me feel difficult—which, in hospitality, deserves its own award. She made me feel comfortable, valued, and truly looked after. I left in tears, not because anything went wrong, but because the experience was that meaningful. Shakari a is a major reason I am already planning to return. Jenna made a dinner recommendation that exceeded my expectations so thoroughly that I ordered the same meal again the following night. No notes. She understood the assignment, submitted it early, and received full credit. Phillip at the bar has a direct, matter-of-fact communication style, but the man is talented. Tell him what flavors you enjoy and allow him to create. The custom cocktail he made for me was so good that the guest seated beside me asked about it and ordered the same drink. She was not even much of a drinker, yet the cocktail converted her. That beverage had its own outreach ministry. Paulo was kind, attentive, and professional. When I dropped a piece of paper, he immediately came from behind the desk to retrieve it for me. It may sound like a small gesture, but good manners are never small. Also, one less occasion for me to perform an elegant squat in a dress, so thank you, sir. Ariel was exceptional. She listened fully, anticipated exactly what I needed, and provided information before I could even ask the follow-up questions. She was thoughtful, perceptive, and extremely thorough. The interaction felt like speaking with a highly competent friend who happened to work for the hotel and already knew what chapter I was on. The only noticeable miss was Justin. His manner came across as condescending and passive-aggressive, particularly in the way he addressed me. The interaction stood out because the remainder of the staff consistently demonstrated such warmth, courtesy, and professionalism. Overall, the hotel felt safe, polished, and well managed. My stay took place during a busy FIFA weekend, yet the staff remained composed, attentive, and gracious. I was not expecting anyone to stand nearby waving a palm leaf or feeding me grapes. I simply wanted to be treated with kindness, competence, and respect, and that is overwhelmingly what I received. Kudos to the management team for cultivating a staff that clearly understands hospitality. Kenny, Alex, Ralph, Shakari, Jenna, Phillip, Paulo, and Ariel made what was intended to be a simple staycation feel memorable, luxurious, and genuinely cared for.
