Kimpton Shane Hotel

Kimpton's first Atlanta property opened in September 2022 as the hotel component of Midtown Union, a new mixed-use complex in the city's Arts District. The 230-room boutique hotel pairs locally curated artwork with two in-house dining concepts, Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails and Aveline.

The place

The hotel sits at 1340 West Peachtree Street NW in Midtown Atlanta's Arts District, inside the mixed-use Midtown Union complex a few blocks from the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum of Art and the Alliance Theatre, within walking distance of the Arts Center MARTA station.

The concept

The Kimpton Shane Hotel is a ground-up, 14-story addition to Midtown Union, the office-residential-retail-hotel complex developed by MetLife Investment Management and AMS Hospitality on the site of a former surface parking lot and a demolished 1960s office building. Cooper Carry designed the building's architecture, while Dallas-based Studio 11 Design handled interiors, pairing natural materials and neutral tones with commissioned work from local artists — including a sculptural tree installation on the mezzanine level. The hotel also carries flexible meeting and event space on its second floor, aimed at the corporate tenants of Midtown Union as much as leisure travelers.

Dining & wellness

Food and beverage is split across two venues: Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails, a casually polished American restaurant facing the tree-lined pedestrian promenade, and Aveline, a cocktail bar and lounge on the mezzanine level with an outdoor terrace overlooking Arts Center Way. The hotel has no pool.
