Hotel Granada, a 120-room independent hotel from Aparium Hotel Group, opened in August 2024 in Midtown Atlanta inside the century-old former Granada Apartments building. A two-year restoration for owners Scarp Ridge Capital Partners and Monomoy Property Ventures replaced the property's most recent identity as the Artmore Hotel, reviving its original Spanish Colonial architecture and courtyard.

The place

Hotel Granada sits at 1302 W. Peachtree Street NW in Midtown Atlanta, a short walk from the Woodruff Arts Center and directly served by MARTA's Arts Center station. The address places it inside Atlanta's densest concentration of museums, theaters and corporate offices, a walkable core that distinguishes Midtown from the city's more car-dependent neighborhoods.

The concept

The building opened in 1924 as the Granada Apartments, a residence popular with Atlanta socialites, before converting to hotel use in 1984. Its most recent identity was the independent Artmore Hotel, which closed in summer 2023 after a sale. Aparium Hotel Group then led a two-year, ground-up restoration for owners Scarp Ridge Capital Partners and Monomoy Property Ventures, working with architect Ken Gowland of MetroStudio to preserve the Spanish Colonial shell — stucco facade, red terracotta roof, horseshoe-shaped courtyard — while interior designer Cameron Carr reworked the rooms around a Spanish-bohemian-meets-Southern palette of green, blue and ochre, with artwork sourced from Savannah College of Art and Design alumni. Hotel Granada reopened in August 2024 as a member of Design Hotels and joined the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, positioning it as an independent, design-led alternative to Midtown's branded upscale inventory.

Dining & wellness

Pom Court, the hotel's all-day restaurant, occupies the open-air central courtyard around the property's historic fountain, serving Spanish-Southern small plates for breakfast through dinner under executive chef Jaime Cubias, formerly of the Optimist. May Peel, a subterranean speakeasy-style cocktail bar, opened in the building's lower level in fall 2024. The hotel has a fitness center but no spa or pool.

Great little hotel with wonderful quirks and an incredible staff! From the valet guys to the check in folks and those manning the breakfast nook and main floor bar, the staff here is wonderful! Our cars were parked and retrieved quickly, check in was easy and such friendly folks! Our room was neat, clean, and exactly what we needed. It is a quiet place, yet so much room to spread out and enjoy a conversation with friends. Ordered breakfast from the kitchen and it was made well and delicious. Coffee drinks were spot on too! Will stay here again in a heartbeat!

I have never experienced hospitality in the way Frank delivered at the front desk. He was friendly, thoughtful, and helpful. He noticed it was our anniversary and gave us an incredible room upgrade! He did not have to do that, and our experience would’ve been amazing either way, but his attentiveness and kindness made our stay memorable. Frank is a wonderful person and an example of what hospitality really means. I also want to recognize Jayden in valet. We have had less than great experiences in the past so we always get a little nervous using new valets. Jayden was friendly, quick, and trustworthy. It’s relieving to know that when we come back for our next visit we can trust the valet team. I don’t recall everyone’s name unfortunately. However every interaction I had at the Granada was pleasant - it’s apparent that everyone takes their role seriously. This hotel is the epitome of hospitality.

Worst hotel I’ve stayed at in ages. Every night music blasting out of a speaker directly outside my window until 10pm or later. Had to change rooms and still no silence. Not to mention no real breakfast or room service. Then when I go out to the courtyard a different night by myself not speaking a word to anyone to get some fresh air I get yelled at to go inside that I can’t be out there. Go stay Nextdoor at KIMPTON SHANE, same price waaaaaaaaay better experience proper restaurant proper staff silent rooms. This place is a disgrace. Avoid it at all costs. Leaving negative reviews everywhere I can. Walls are paper thin by the way, can hear every neighbor, every footstep, the front desk is lousy and rarely staffed, got one single positive interaction front the gentleman that helped me change rooms but that’s about it. AVOID AVOID AVOID

My review is based on my one or more visits to my grandmother in the late 1990s (1997 or 1998). As a teen, my grandmother lived in this hotel for a few weeks while her home was being remodeled. The hotel didn't seem fancy to me. My grandmother's room had a jacuzzi tub, a few stairs, a large bed and the style of the room seemed retro. The room was very spacious. Her view was high up but nothing eye-catching to me. I have seen mych of old Atlanta for many years by that time. The paint color was pleasant to view. The first and the best-tasting cheese danishes I had were served here. I didn’t care for the apple danishes; they seemed dry and had no appesl as apple pie does to me. There was no environmental issues anywhere while visiting my grandmother. I think she enjoyed herself while there. It seemed safe while there. I hope this hotel is still safe and is better than the times my family and I were there.

Room floor boards are wooden, you will hear the upstairs neighbor walking around at midnight. Russian roulette if you'll get a good sleep. No kettle no microwave no toothbrushes, you'll get more from a red roof inn. No parking facilities, $50 valet per night. Just a very inconvenient hotel. Expect more from a $200 per night '4 star' hotel. Was not good value for money. Staff were helpful. Location is good.
