The place

The Morrow sits at 222 M Street NE in NoMa's 3rd Street District, a short walk from Union Station and the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro stop, on the last remaining site of Central Armature Works, a century-old electrical manufacturing and repair business.

The concept

Developed by Trammell Crow Company and MetLife Investment Management as the hotel component of the Central Armature Works mixed-use project, The Morrow is a ground-up 12-story, 149,000-square-foot building on a formerly industrial NoMa site. Shalom Baranes Associates designed the exterior; INC Architecture & Design handled the lobby and restaurant spaces, with Rottet Studio responsible for guest rooms, meeting space and the fitness center, blending neoclassical, modern and organic references meant to track NoMa's shift from warehouses to a residential and hospitality neighborhood.

Dining & wellness

The ground floor has changed hands since opening: originally curated by Michelin-starred chef Nicholas Stefanelli, it has been home since June 2025 to Marcus Samuelsson's Marcus DC, a restaurant built around Black culinary heritage with executive chef Anthony Jones, alongside the Sly rooftop bar and the Goodie Lounge.
