The Line DC turned a 1912 Christian Science church in Adams Morgan into a 220-room hotel in November 2017, keeping the building's stained glass and vaulted lobby intact behind a new guest-room wing. Its restaurant program has since passed from Spike Gjerde and Erik Bruner-Yang to the Fried Rice Collective's No Goodbyes.

The place
The Line DC occupies a corner site at 1770 Euclid Street NW, at 18th Street and Columbia Road in Adams Morgan, one of DC's densest nightlife and dining strips.
The concept
Sydell Group converted the 1912 First Church of Christ, Scientist — a Neoclassical Revival landmark with a columned entrance that had never operated as a hotel — into its lobby, restaurant floor and event space, while INC Architecture & Design built a new mid-rise addition behind it to hold the guest rooms. The church's vaulted mezzanine, stained-glass windows and organ pipes were kept and repurposed rather than stripped out, and the interiors deliberately mix found and salvaged furnishings with new pieces reflecting Adams Morgan's immigrant and counterculture history.
Dining & wellness
Dining is now run by the Fried Rice Collective (chefs Danny Lee and Scott Drewno) as No Goodbyes, a Chesapeake Bay and Mid-Atlantic restaurant, and No Goodbyes Bar. At opening, the hotel launched with chef Spike Gjerde's A Rake's Progress and Erik Bruner-Yang's Brothers and Sisters and Spoken English, none of which remain in operation.
