The place
In downtown Minneapolis, connected by skyway to the Minneapolis Convention Center, on the site of the historic Capp Towers Motor Hotel.
The concept
A genuine brand change: the independently-flagged Millennium Minneapolis, family-owned and operated by the Capp family for over six decades, closed on November 4, 2024, for a six-month, $40 million renovation and reopened in May 2025 under Marriott's Sheraton flag. All 321 guestrooms and suites were redesigned with height-adjustable tables and Sheraton Sleep Experience platform beds, and the hotel's 19 event spaces — 23,500 to 33,150 square feet depending on the source, including the Mill City Ballroom — were reworked while keeping the building's landmark rooftop dome.
Dining & wellness
Two new dining concepts introduced with the rebrand, plus an indoor pool and a refreshed fitness centre.
