Moxy Minneapolis Downtown opened in 2019 as the hotel component of the Ironclad mixed-use development in Downtown East, developed and operated by Graves Hospitality a short walk from U.S. Bank Stadium. It is Marriott's second Moxy in the Twin Cities, built around a communal lobby bar rather than a conventional front desk.

The place
The hotel sits at the corner of Washington and Chicago Avenues in Downtown East, a former industrial and surface-parking pocket rebuilt around U.S. Bank Stadium since the stadium's 2016 opening. Target Field and the Mississippi riverfront are both within a mile.
The concept
The hotel occupies the hotel component of Ironclad, a mixed-use tower designed by St. Paul-based Collage Architects and built by Kraus-Anderson, which also includes a 172-unit apartment building with a rooftop sky lounge, pool and amenity deck. Graves Hospitality, the Minneapolis developer behind the neighborhood's earlier Moxy Uptown, both developed and manages the hotel, its second Moxy in the Twin Cities. The project's name references an iron-reinforced grain elevator that previously stood on the site. As a Moxy, the property follows Marriott's format for the brand: compact rooms, a communal lobby built around the front desk, and a design pitched at younger, value-conscious travelers over traditional business amenities.
Dining & wellness
Bar Moxy occupies the lobby and doubles as the check-in desk, serving a complimentary handcrafted cocktail at arrival alongside small plates and games. The hotel's dining venue offers a mix of American fare and sushi with rooftop seating; there is no pool or spa on site, and the fitness center operates 24 hours.
