Hotel Emery, Autograph Collection
A 1906 bank building near U.S. Bank Stadium shed its independent branding for Marriott's Autograph Collection after a renovation that kept the original vault doors and marble columns.
Open · 2019
Hotel Emery, Autograph Collection reopened in 2019 inside Minneapolis's 1906 Midland Bank building after a renovation exceeding $22 million by owner KHP Capital Partners, replacing the building's previous incarnation as The Hotel Minneapolis. The 229-room hotel keeps original bank vault and marble details near U.S. Bank Stadium.

The place
The hotel occupies the former Midland Bank building at 215 4th Street South, within a half-mile of U.S. Bank Stadium and a short walk of the Armory and Foshay Tower in downtown Minneapolis.
The concept
The ten-story Richardsonian Romanesque building was completed in 1906 to designs by Franklin and Louis Long and originally housed Midland National Bank. Converted to a hotel in 2006-2008 as The Hotel Minneapolis (itself an Autograph Collection property), the building was bought by KHP Capital Partners in 2017, which carried out a renovation exceeding $22 million before reopening it in 2019 as Hotel Emery: still under Autograph Collection, but with a new name, operator and interior. The redesign kept structural markers of the building's banking past, including the original vault and marble-columned lobby, alongside an indoor/outdoor garden theme with jewel-toned interiors.
Dining & wellness
Giulia, led by chef Josh Hedquist, serves Northern Italian cooking including oven-fired pizzas and house-made pasta alongside small-batch cocktails; Spyhouse Coffee Lounge operates a café on site. The hotel also has a 24-hour fitness center, the Vault Gift Shop (referencing the building's bank vault) and dog-friendly rooms.
