Nobu Hotel Toronto opened June 1, 2025, occupying floors 41 to 45 atop the west tower of Nobu Residences in the Entertainment District — the highest hotel perch in the city and Nobu Hospitality's Canadian debut. With just 36 rooms and suites, the property positions itself as a private, sky-high extension of the Nobu Toronto restaurant that opened downstairs a year earlier.

The place

The hotel sits in Toronto's Entertainment District, within walking distance of the CN Tower, Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre, Union Station and the Harbourfront. Rather than a standalone building, it occupies the top five floors of a 45-storey mixed-use tower that also houses 660 residential units, giving guests panoramic views over Lake Ontario and the downtown skyline from a private, key-card-access lobby set apart from the residences below. The address builds on groundwork already laid by the brand: Nobu Toronto restaurant opened here in August 2024 and the building's residences sold out quickly, giving the hotel a built-in local profile before its own doors opened.

The concept

Nobu Hotel Toronto is operated by Nobu Hospitality, the group founded by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, and marks the brand's first hotel in Canada. At 36 rooms across floors 41 through 45, it is deliberately compact for a luxury downtown property, trading room count for scale of view and privacy — a positioning the group leans into by calling it a "sanctuary in the sky." Interiors favor natural materials, warm woods and understated Japanese detailing rather than overt ornament, with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and hinoki wood soaking tubs in bathrooms. Accommodations range from the 450-square-foot Taiyo Suite up to the 2,300-square-foot Nobu Villa, with junior suites offering corner views and one-bedroom suites facing the lake with living rooms and glass fireplaces. Rooms include heated floors, flat-screen televisions, Toto toilets and yukata robes. The hotel also provides guests with Mercedes-Benz electric G-Class house car access and a complimentary wellness mini-bar, reinforcing an all-inclusive, high-touch service model typical of the Nobu brand's smaller-format hotels.

Dining & wellness

Guests have priority access to Nobu Restaurant, the fine-dining Japanese restaurant and bar/lounge at 25 Mercer Street that opened in August 2024 under chef Nobu Matsuhisa, alongside 24-hour in-room dining. Within the hotel itself, the Sakura Lounge serves a complimentary full breakfast. Wellness facilities include a 24/7 fitness center equipped with Technogym and Peloton machines, a Frame Pilates studio, and in-room yoga and spa services rather than a standalone destination spa.
