The place
The tower stands at 1 Yonge Street, on the waterfront, where Yonge meets the lake. Pinnacle International is the developer and Hariri Pontarini Architects drew a 12-sided tapered tower, designed first at 95 storeys and approved at 106. It topped out in March 2026, making it the tallest building in Canada.
The highest residential floor lines up with the main observation deck of the CN Tower. A restaurant is planned on the top floor, with no details published yet.
The concept
The brand's design language is described by Marriott as timeless chic mixed with mid-century modern, and the rooms and suites face either the city or the lake.
The hotel sits in the same building as the residents' 80,000 square feet of amenities (pools, gym, yoga studio, games room), which are a condo feature and not a hotel one. Hotel guests have their own list: a fitness center, a pool, a business center, meeting and event space, and a spa with sauna and steam room.
Le Méridien is positioned as an upscale brand with a European accent, and this one returns to Canada after a long absence from the country.
Dining & wellness
Marriott lists two restaurants and a Le Scoop gelato bar, a format the brand uses in several of its hotels. Names, chefs and cuisine have not been announced.
The spa has a sauna and a steam room.
