Manga Hotels has begun construction on a roughly 250-room addition to its TOOR Hotel Collection at 471 Richmond Street West, in Toronto's Fashion District. It's paired with a second, smaller hotel at 38 Camden Street on the same block, and both are still awaiting a city decision on a variance that could add extra suites and storeys.

The place

The hotel rises on Richmond Street West in Toronto's Fashion District, a few blocks from the existing TOOR Hotel Toronto and within walking distance of King West's restaurant and nightlife strip. The site is paired, on the same block, with a second Manga Hotels project at 38 Camden Street immediately to the south.

The concept

Manga Hotels — the operator behind the already-open TOOR Hotel Toronto — is building a new-construction hotel at 471 Richmond Street West as part of the same TOOR Hotel Collection, designed by Sweeny & Co. Architects. The zoning entitlement dates to a 2019-2021 application settled at the Ontario Land Tribunal, and construction was confirmed under way in 2026 after a target of starting that spring. Manga has since filed for a minor variance to add roughly 30 suites and four storeys to the paired Camden Street building, a request that, if approved, would also affect the final scale of this Richmond Street tower — so the current ~250-room figure should be read as provisional rather than final.

Dining & wellness

No restaurant, bar or amenity program has been announced yet for this specific building; TOOR Hotel Toronto, the operator's existing Toronto property, has its own dining venue.
