voco Montréal
IHG's fast-growing voco brand breaks ground in Canada for the first time, steps from the Palais des congrès
Announced · Targeted for mid-2027
voco Montréal, a new-build 55-room hotel near the Palais des congrès in downtown Montreal, marks IHG's voco brand's entry into Canada and is the first of the brand's three simultaneous Canadian signings to break ground. Targeted for a mid-2027 opening, it joins new voco properties announced for Niagara Falls and near Toronto Pearson Airport as IHG expands the premium lifestyle brand north of the border.

The place
The new-build hotel is going up in downtown Montreal, a short distance from the Palais des congrès de Montréal (Montreal Convention Centre), the Université de Montréal's downtown health centre campus, and the gateway to Old Montreal.
The concept
Announced in June 2025 alongside voco's first two other Canadian signings — a conversion in Niagara Falls and a new-build near Toronto Pearson Airport — voco Montréal is the trio's furthest along, described by IHG as the brand's first Canadian property to actually break ground. IHG has positioned voco, launched globally in 2018, as its fastest-growing premium brand, built around informal, at-home service touches — a swift check-in, locally inspired welcome treats, and vibrant bar and restaurant spaces — rather than a traditional business-hotel formula. The Montreal property will be comparatively compact at 55 rooms, with the brand's usual spacious restaurant and lobby-lounge concepts standing in for a larger room count.
Dining & wellness
IHG's announcement describes "spacious restaurant and lobby lounge concepts" as part of the brand's standard format; no restaurant name, chef or operator has been disclosed.
