voco Auckland City Centre

voco Auckland City Centre opened May 12, 2022, on the corner of Albert and Wyndham Streets, bringing IHG's voco brand to New Zealand for the first time. The 201-room hotel, a joint venture between Pro-invest Hotels and IHG, shares its dual-tower site with a separate Holiday Inn Express and pursued a Green Engage sustainability certification alongside its Richards Stanisich-designed interiors.

The place

The hotel occupies the corner of Albert and Wyndham Streets in Auckland's CBD, part of a dual-tower development that also houses the separate 294-room Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre — a budget-tier building sharing the site but not affecting the voco's own upscale positioning.

The concept

voco Auckland City Centre was the brand's first New Zealand property, opened as a joint venture between Pro-invest Hotels and IHG. Interiors by Richards Stanisich lean into voco's playful, slightly irreverent identity: a palette of deep blues, charcoal greys and the brand's signature yellow, paired with warm timber and brass accents, hand-picked artwork and marble bathrooms. The hotel also pursued a Level 3/4 Green Engage certification through measures including bedding made from recycled materials, filtered in-room drinking water, aerated shower heads and large refillable bathroom amenities.

Dining & wellness

Mozzarella & Co, an all-day Italian trattoria, occupies the ground floor, while the rooftop Bar Albert opened a few weeks after the hotel itself, in mid-June 2022. Five meeting rooms round out the amenities.
